It’s frustrating watching people talk about the attack on Mr. Shapiro’s governing estate and saying “This is what real antisemitism looks like, not criticizing Israel”. If you can’t criticize bigotry without offering a disclaimer about something unrelated then you are a bigot, full stop, and you are exactly the type of person who has helped enable this kind of hate in our society.

Today is the anniversary of the Tree of Life synagogue massacre in the Gregorian calendar. It happened in 2018, not that long ago, almost yesterday in Jewish time, but so many more horrific things have rocked our community since then, that it seems to have been overlooked. And it's devastating. It's devastating that in the six years since that day, hundreds more Jews have been killed for the sole reason that they were Jews, for the same ancient hatred that fueled Robert Bowers to open fire in a synagogue on Shabbat and kill eleven Jews. We can't let it be forgotten. It was forgotten by the rest of the world almost as soon as soon as it happened, but we can't let it be forgotten amongst us Jews. Our memory is what keeps us going.

It is really super fucking telling that Jews and Muslims are experiencing massive amounts of hate crimes right now and it isn't Jews and Muslims committing said hate crimes.
We are not character is in a game or some sports team. We are all very real people who very much impacted by calls for our death and traumatized by happens to members of our communities even if it is in other parts of the world.
I know there many of you on this site having the time of your life being able to go mask off and revel in calling for Jews to die.
But this is not a joke, this is not fictional. This is real.
Wadea al-Fayoume, 6 year-old Palestinian-American child was murdered in Illinois by the family's landlord. (who again I need to stress was not Jewish)
This is what you are sowing and we, the Jewish and Muslim communities, will end having reap.
Enough is enough. Stop. Just stop.
Be quiet if can not focus your words on how to send help, aid, and resources for Palestinians.

You know when the Pennsylvania Governor's mansion was fire bombed on the first night of passover I knew, I hoped I was wrong, but I knew on a gut level that it was because Shapiro was a JEWISH Democrat.

“israel is the reason jewish people are getting hatecrimed” wrong! Two Thousand Years of Antisemitism.
#jumblr#yes i know it’s probably more than two thousand years i just looked at what wikipedia said was the first recorded instance of it#also this is not to say that antisemitic hate crimes arent going up because of the conflict. im just saying they arent solely bc of it#but people are using the conflict as an excuse

In a conversation on Reddit about a Jewish grandmother being assaulted in France for wearing a Star of David, someone kept asking me whether what's been happening everywhere really counted as a rise in antisemitism or if this could be seen as a 'reward' of Israel's actions, like. Wtf are you talking about. I mean, I know what they were talking about, they were saying all this antisemitism wouldn't be happening rn if Israel just... disappeared from the map I guess, but also WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT. Do you also think random American Muslims deserved to be assaulted after 9/11 or do you reserve that line of thinking for Jewish folks?
#israel#antisemitism#did you know it's your own fault i did a hate crime against you?#if you didn't want to be hate crimed maybe you should've simply *checks notes* controlled the actions of a foreign government#assault tw

I am tired of being told "antisemitism on college campuses isn't a real thing" when I was jumped at my college and had my shoulder and two ribs broken by angry "pro-Pal" "activists". The school classified it as a mugging and moved on. The police didn't even really bother with the pretense of an investigation. So when I see leftist YouTubers and bloggers and Instas and Tiktokers all tell me there's no antisemitism while I sit here with a sling, trying to find the way to sit that will hurt the least, remembering the slurs I was called as I was struck, I'm not convinced. I don't suddenly see this is all a lie by (((the Israelis))). My shoulder and ribs remain broken. My memory has always been near eidetic. There is no ambiguity about events to me. I know what happened.
All I see when I see these kinds of posts and videos are people who are either actively antisemitic or too lacking in moral fiber to say anything as Never Again becomes Right Now. And if you're going to go ahead and stop being moral, I'd prefer you say it to my face. At least the three guys who jumped me (because it takes three goyim to fight one disabled Jew, obviously /s) didn't lie and tell me they were on my side or "Never Again!" or "punch nazis!" while they did it.
They have more integrity than the people pretending to be accepting or moral while they also try to gaslight the world into ignoring reality.

Anti-Jewish incidents surged around the world this week, again.
The problem is not just that Jewish people are having our lives threatened, synagogues ambushed, and families pummelled.
It’s that no one wants to talk about it.

I’m going to be honest. I have started having the knee jerk fear reaction I had reserved for ppl from deeply conservative areas like Utah and Alabama… for people from places like Austin, California, Vermont and Washington. It’s so bad I actually relax when I find out someone is a current church member.
Basically all the “safety check” questions I used to have to use to protect against far right antisemitism from red states have become essential to use on new people I meet in my deep blue dem liberal city. those fuckers I take the subway with or be introduced to in passing might follow me home, post my address on antizionist socials or poison my food while I’m in the bathroom.
What a fucking horrible and weird time to be alive.

Since I was little kid, I remember my shul having police cars outside to protect us during high holy days, someone always monitoring the door, and security cameras showing all the entrances. After the Tree of Life shooting in Pittsburg, it heightened. My rabbi and cantor were once in the news after spending a day testifying against someone who had threatened to bomb our shul.
I was a bit older when I found out that churches don't have security. I was shocked. "So, you can just go in whenever you want? They don't even lock the doors?" I remember asking. The mom of a goyische friend of mine was equally shocked to discover that shuls do have security. "Why would they need security?" she asked me.
It was then that I realized that the amount of security we had - and every other shul had - was not the norm.

A pattern I've noticed when Jews raise concern about antisemitism is that pro Palestinians will accuse them of "making it about yourselves" and "pretending that both situations are equally bad".
No, you numbskulls. We've never claimed that being hate crimed is worse than living in a warzone. And we're not going to apologize for having some self respect and advocating for ourselves instead of putting on our oxygen masks last and licking your boots.
Also, I swear that any other day of the week these people would say "noooooo don't compare your struggles to other people! what you're going through is valid" but the moment a shul gets firebombed it's "shut up, you attention freaks! there are babies dying in gaza!"

But yes – sure, “Free Palestine!” supporters are worried for the Palestinian children. This man was so concerned “for the children”, in fact, that he directly copied Hamas’ efforts and…shot children to demonstrate his concern for children. Likewise – again imitating Hamas and so many other so-called Pro-Palestinians – he held individual children responsible for the imaginary crimes of a Christian elementary school/imaginary crimes of a nation, and attempted to kill them for it. And planned to do so again. Oh, and it’s not even done! To cap it all off, he planned to use his own "child" as a weapon to kill more children, in his concern “for the children”. Just like Hamas and the Palestinians themselves, who regularly send their own children as suicide bombers to Israel to kill Jews; who systematically brainwash their children into thinking their lives are only worth however many Jews they can kill.
There is no sense here; there is no moral high ground, there is no freedom or justice or actual concern for anyone. There is only unreasoning, bigoted hate and a manic love of death.
The children he shot -- 5 and 6 years old, respectively -- are alive, thank God.
